The separation of church and state is a concept that is often talked about, but is it unlikely that there is a national consensus on what it should be, or does it exist at all? In recent years, the US Supreme Court has moved to a “housing” interpretation, say its authors Provisions of religion. The work of dividing the church և the stateThis is a dangerous approach for Ervin Chemerinsky and Howard Gilman.

Inside Provisions of religion, constitutional scholars look at what the provision of the Constitution և the point of free implementation of the Constitution means when they are written. They claim that the rulers of the 18th century saw first-hand the oppressive violence that may result from a state-sponsored religion.

In this episode of the Law Contemporary Law Library podcast, Chemerinsky իլ Gilman explains to ABA Journal Lee Rolls the difference between “dwelling views” and why they thought it was the right time to write this book և what they hope to accomplish. its release. They emphasize that the separatist view is not hostile to religion. rather, it maintains neutrality in order to violate one’s religious beliefs or to elevate one religion above another.
